  1. To a quart jar, add about 2 tablespoons of broccoli sprouting seeds.
  2. Cover the seeds with a few inches of (filtered) water and cap it off with the sprouting lid.
  3. Store in a warm, dark place for about 12 hours.
  4. After the 12 hours have elapsed, drain the liquid and rinse the seeds.
  5. Continue to rinse the seeds 3-4 times a day. Do not soak them anymore – at this point only rinsing is required.
  6. In between rinsings, continue to store in a warm, dark place. A kitchen cabinet is usually a great spot!
  7. After a few days, the seeds will break open and you'll notice tiny little sprouts coming out! This is where it gets exciting!
  8. Once the sprouts grow to about 1 inch and have yellow leaves, you can move them out into the sunlight.
  9. Keep rinsing them 3-4 times a day until the leaves turn green.
  10. Once the leaves turn green, it means they are ready to eat!

Notes:

  • This entire process should take about a week, so be patient.
  • Once they are ready to eat, replace the sprouting lid with a regular lid and store the sprouts in the refrigerator.
  • Eat raw and fresh, in salads, soups, sandwiches, or however you like!
